Saying Farewell To Roy Perrett
4 October 2026
Five Years of Opening Doors
This summer, we said a sad goodbye to Roy Perrett. Roy retired from his role as WorkFit Officer at the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group after five years with us.
Roy’s work was simple to describe and hard to do well: he helped our members find their place in the workplace. That meant building relationships with local employers, such as Amazon. Supporting members through applications and interviews, and being alongside them as they found their feet in new roles. Behind every placement was a person gaining confidence, independence and the pride of a job well done.
Roy’s patience, encouragement and belief in what our members can achieve made a real difference. Not just to the individuals he supported, but to the employers who learned what a valuable addition they can be to any team.
Roy, thank you for everything you’ve done. You will be very much missed, and we wish you a long, happy and well-earned retirement.
