As a group we like to arrange activities that include the whole family: parents, carers, grandparents and siblings. It is a chance to make new friend find support and share information.
We try and have as much fun as we can and we do this for all age groups!

Our coffee mornings are predominately for our younger families. We hold our stay and play coffee mornings monthly at Grange Leisure Centre which has a small soft play, ideal for this little ones. Plus there is a games room where parents can sit and chat too. There’s a coffee shop on site for refreshments and we provide squash/water.
There is no charge to attend, please just let us know if you’ll be attending so we have an idea of numbers and who to expect. If you need any more information please email secretary@swindondownsgroup.org.uk
Our families love a trip to the theatre. The group offer regular trips to the theatre and where we can we offer discounted tickets and provide transport to the event too. Over the years we have been fortunate to see performances such as the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and not forgetting our annual trip to the pantomime at Bristol Hippodrome.

It is fair to say our young people love a disco, especially our older members. They are a great opportunity for our young people to meet with their friends, enjoy lots of music and play a few party games too.

Each year we hold Christmas parties for all our members. We usually hold one party for the younger children and a Christmas disco for the older members. Our parties are free to attend and each child and their siblings receive a gift from Father Christmas. As you can imagine this is one of our most attended events.

During the summer months and when the weather is nice we try and hold a picnic or BBQ at one of our local parks for all the family to attend. In the past we have visited Coate Water, spending many an afternoon riding the miniature railway.

Our annual summer trip usually takes place in early September. Each year we try and visit somewhere different that is suitable for the needs of our members and all ages. Some of our favourite places have included Chessington World of Adventures, Drayton Manor, West Midlands Safari Park and Legoland.

PGL is a provider of activity courses and residential camps. We have been fortunate to be able to spend a day at the Liddington site taking part in activities such as archery, fencing, canoeing, assault courses, zip wire and quad biking. In recent years families have headed down to Torquay and enjoyed a 3 day residential trip too.
We think it is important to stay connected with other members. Keep an eye on our Events page and Facebook page for up and coming events.
