Queens award
In 2010 the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group were the proud recipients of the prestigious Queen’s Award.
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK, the MBE for volunteer groups.
We were recognised for our work supporting people with Down’s syndrome, providing support and information and most of all for offering free speech and language therapy to our members. We are one of few charities in the UK that offer this essential service completely free. We fundraise tirelessly every year to ensure our we can support our young people and have done for over 20 years.
We are truly honoured to be the recipients of the Queen’s Award
