From the day your child is born and throughout every stage of life, we offer activities, guidance and support for individuals with Down’s syndrome and their families.
Information and support
Many families will not know much about Down’s syndrome so we are here to help you find out more about what Down’s syndrome is and what life is like for someone with Down’s syndrome.
We’re here to help and support you. We’re all parents and carers and have real-life experience of having a family member with Down’s syndrome. We have two dedicated new parent contacts, one for Swindon and one for Wiltshire, plus a Primary Age Support Contact for when your child gets older.
We have tailor made resource packs to help you at the different stages of your child’s development. With a specially designed ‘congratulations’ pack for new parents and their babies plus milestone pages for three, six and twelve months of age.
We also provide information on other services available to you in our area.
Family events and groups
We provide lots of group activities for people with Down’s syndrome providing a great opportunity to make friends. For parents and carers, this provides an opportunity to meet and chat too. You can find more information on our ‘Support for you’ page.
Raising awareness
We want to make sure that people with Down’s syndrome have the same opportunities as everyone else. We therefore champion for our young people to access additional services like speech and language therapy, we help them access the world of work and make sure they are a valued part of our community.
