Amazon’s Careers 4 All – Breaking Down Barriers

At the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group, we are always delighted to share positive stories about inclusive employment – and Amazon is leading the way through its Supported Employment programmes. Their “Careers 4 All” initiative, run in partnership with the British Association for Supported Employment (BASE), is creating real opportunities for adults with disabilities by providing personalised support and job matching.

The result? Meaningful, sustainable careers that transform lives. A recent visit to Amazon’s Swindon Fulfilment Centre highlighted just how much impact this initiative is having. Louis, who joined through the Down’s Syndrome Association’s WorkFit programme, is thriving nearly two years on. Jonathan, who came through Phoenix Enterprises, summed it up beautifully when he said:

“The best thing about being at Amazon is how included I feel at work, and that I get the chance to show what people with disabilities can do.”

Amazon has welcomed 35 new team members across eight sites this year alone through Supported Employment. They continue to build on this success by working with BASE and other partners to expand the programme further across the UK and Europe.

It is partnerships like these that make such a difference – opening doors, removing barriers, and showing the world the value and talent people with disabilities bring to the workplace.
