DSActive Football Swindon v Bristol City
11 March 2024
On Sunday March 10th Swindon DSActive Football Team travelled to the @ImperialSportsGround – South Bristol for a friendly game with Robins Foundation – Bristol City FC (bcfc.co.uk). The teams joined together to play some great football. Goals were scored and Swindon even remembered to pass the ball! Team spirits were high and everyone enjoyed the games. As Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group (swindondownsgroup.org.uk) had only 5 players, Bristol teamed up with us and the lads played as if they had been playing together for years. Both teams are a credit to football, with plenty of encouragement for their team mates and congratulations at winning moments. Thank you to Brad and Grace from Swindon Town FC Community Foundation (stfcfoundation.com) for organising this and being with us to help and even join in with wearing their odd socks for #WDSD
After our games the team were invited to watch the Bristol City v Swansea. The whistle blew, and the game commenced with great energy. Bristol City, buoyed by the fervor of their home crowd, launched into attack. Swansea, however, stood firm, their defense a formidable barrier against Bristol’s relentless onslaught. As the match progressed, both teams showcased their skill and determination, trading blows in a battle for supremacy. It was a testament to the unforgiving nature of football, where the outcome hangs in the balance until the final whistle blows. A pleaseing score for Bristol City at the final whistle 1-0
Thank you to Bristol for a fantastic day.
