Join us for a Workfit information evening on Wednesday 20 July at 7pm. It will take place at Gateway Church, Stonehill Green, Westlea SN5 7AR.
Workfit is an exciting project headed up by the National Down’s Syndrome Association. Some of you will have heard of the project and some may not be aware of it at all. Workfit is a tailored employment programme finding meaningful employment and creating opportunities to work within a supported framework with a best fit approach. We look at all areas of work ranging from work experience, volunteering right through to permanent paid employment.
Jenny Williams is our Workfit Liaison Officer for the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group and we are holding an information evening to raise awareness of Workfit and give you and your young person the opportunity to find out more. The evening will consist of a short presentation, a video of people with Down’s Syndrome at work followed by a question and answer session.
We will be joined on the night by Paul Harrison who is the Employment Development Officer for Workfit in the South West and he is very much looking forward to meeting you all. The evening is open to anyone aged 14+ and parents/carers who are interested in work, already employed but not linked to Workfit or those who just want to find out more.
There is no charge for the evening and light refreshments will be provided. Please contact Kim West, firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01793 538335 to confirm your attendance and how many of you will be attending.
